Nothing seems to be wrong except for this message popping up, none of the video settings get changed. The 2560 x 1440 resolution and 144hz is still set correctly when I turn on the monitor although it flickers a little before turning on. This is before I hit the power button on the monitor. When I wake the mouse I can hear Windows giving me a notification through the speakers. I have the computer set to turn off the monitor after 1 hour. My computer doesn't go to sleep but my mouse light comes off (standby mode I guess). I leave the computer on and turn off the monitor at night. Freesync is enabled on both the Radeon software and monitor settings. I was using the latest recommended AMD Radeon drivers for my RX 480. I just bought a LG 32gk650f-b 2K 144hz monitor and Windows 10 notifies me of this error. Pick, Assemble and Install: Video Guide. It's been this way in Win7 for a year since I got my 7970 regardless of driver version. AMD does not, one of the DVI ports is only Single Link. You WILL get this issue if both your monitors are 1440p resolution or higher and your graphics card doesn't have two Dual Link DVI. DP simply causes Windows to reset my desktop to whatever the default display is if I turn off that monitor or let it go into power save (and yup, of course also reset if I physically disconnect it). still means my desktop is messed up and adds extra work on top of it. Dell is refusing to address the issue and suggesting idiotic things like disconnecting and reconnecting the monitor. That's why I have to leave that monitor on 24/7 to avoid it resetting and messing up my desktop. Or just turning off the monitor connected with DP (or DP->DVI active adapter).
